I defer all possibilities to someone else

When we defer a decision to someone else, we give up the chance to influence the outcome.  We lose the opportunity to make art.  Before deferring a project or decision, take a long hard look at the project.  Try to determine the direction it should move.  Then go recruit a team to move the project forward.

Our lives are constructed around relationships

Everyday we get the opportunity to build or tear down relationships.  Each relationship is constructed around an emotional bank account.  A deposit or withdrawal by one person will not have the same weight as someone else.  Likewise the weight of a deposit or withdrawal to someone, will vary depending on the care in which the relationship is fostered.

Everybody has something to hide…

Curious George is a monkey who lives with the man with the yellow hat.  George is always causing trouble and would appear to be a nuisance animal.  So it is hard to understand why he is free to roam around in urban areas.  It is even more troubling to consider why a monkey with a history of breaking things is sometimes left alone.

The man with the yellow hat must be rich because he travels quite often.  He also has several friends and acquaintances in leadership positions within government, academia and zoos.  Not to mention he has to pay for all the things George breaks.  So he must be rich.

Based on his wardrobe, the man with the yellow hat appears ready for a wild jungle excursion.  He can be found visiting various friends, with monkey in tow.  George invariably destroys something of value on every visit.

It’s hard to tell how George’s actions affects the man’s relationships.  But we rarely find them visiting the same friend twice.  Which makes me wonder, is George a real monkey or a metaphor for the monkey on the back of the man with the yellow hat.
