Ever find yourself in a meeting and someone whips out an excel spreadsheet.  The data on the spreadsheet is completely random, yet you are told this spreadsheet contains magical numbers.  Numbers that will propel the company, division, or department forward.  You know its completely bogus and your coworkers know its completely bogus.  But your stuck, shaking your head making marks on the sheet and hoping for an important phone call to take you from the meeting.

Don’t really have an answer to this horrible epidemic.  But I think the next time you see a friend or co-worker opening an excel spreadsheet you should engage them in conversation long enough that they have to shelve that portion of their presentation.  Hopefully they’ll forget all about before the next meeting.
